2018 AGCO Power engine plant: 75 years and a million engines

Engine manufacturer AGCO Power celebrated its 75th anniversary and millionth engine in spring 2018. Out of those one million engines 700,000 have been manufactured at the Linnavuori plant in Finland. AGCO Power’s history is closely connected to that of Valtra, having previously been known as Valmet Diesel and Sisu Diesel.

Over 70 percent of the tractors, harvesters and other agricultural equipment manufactured by AGCO in 2018 are powered by its own AGCO Power engines. In addition to the Linnavuori plant in Finland, AGCO Power has engine plants in Mogi das Cruzes in Brazil, Changzhou in China, and General Rodriguez in Argentina. Each year AGCO Power manufactures almost 100,000 engines, comprising 3-, 4-, 6-, 7- and 12-cylinder engines. In addition, the Linnavuori plant manufactures gear wheels for both tractor and snowmobile transmissions, for example.

AGCO Power specialises in engines for off-road applications that are known for their robust construction, durability, reliability and strong torque. Off-road engines are designed from the outset to be tougher than on-road engines, enabling them to be an integral part of the chassis.
