In the field of turbo-charging, Valmet brought forth two world novelties: the first turbocharged three-cylinder engine meant for use in tractors, in the model 602 Turbo, and the first Comprex pressure wave supercharger in the model 1203.

The basic design of Valmet engines was made for turbo-charging. It was therefore possible to charge the three-cylinder 311 C engine, but optimizing the charger for that was a job of its own. It succeeded well, and the 602 Turbo, 66 hp DIN, was enthusiastically received on the market.

  • Valmet 602 in short:
  • Engine displacement/cylinders: 3.3 l / 3T
  • Power: 66 hp (DIN)
  • Speeds: 6 + 2 R
  • Weight: 2700 kg
